Iran's Foreign Minister Calls on US to Pursue Political Solution

Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, urged the United States to refrain from employing threatening rhetoric against the axis of resistance and instead prioritize seeking a political resolution to the conflict in the region. Speaking at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized the need for constructive dialogue over hostile language.

Amir-Abdollahian asserted that Iran would respond decisively and swiftly to any threatening situation, referencing recent remarks by American officials regarding potential actions against resistance forces following a deadly attack on a US base in Jordan. While Washington has attributed the attack to the Iraqi resistance group Kataib Hezbollah, the group has denied involvement but cautioned against potential US aggression.

Echoing similar sentiments, IRGC Chief Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami affirmed Iran's readiness to retaliate against any US attack, dismissing threats from American officials. Iran's envoy to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, reiterated this stance, warning of decisive responses to any aggression against Iran's territory, interests, or nationals.

The tensions in the region have been fueled by attacks on US bases in Iraq and Syria, with Iran condemning Washington's perceived complicity in Israel's actions in Gaza. As the situation remains tense, Iran emphasizes the importance of diplomatic efforts to address underlying issues and avoid further escalation.
